Last updated: 22 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Solo Wildlife Trust ("the Trust", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit solowildlifetrust.org (the "Website") or interact with us.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide directly: your name, email address, and any message or interest you share with us through our contact or founding-supporter forms.
- Payment information (once donations open): if and when the Trust begins accepting donations, payments will be processed by our third-party, PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway, Cashfree Payments. We do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank account details on our own servers — these are handled entirely by the payment gateway under its own privacy and security policies.
- Automatically collected information: standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring URLs, typically collected through server logs and cookies.
- Cookies: we may use essential and analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the Website and to improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your enquiries and messages.
- To keep you updated about the Trust's work, plans, and field reports, if you have asked to hear from us.
- To process donations and issue related receipts or acknowledgements, once donations are enabled.
- To maintain the security, performance, and functioning of the Website.
- To comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
3. Sharing of Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Website, send email, or process payments (for example, our payment gateway, once live), under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal and regulatory authorities, where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Trust, our supporters, or the public.
We do not share your personal information with any third party for unrelated marketing purposes without your consent.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including for legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
